Leonard Ellerbe believes you don’t know the real Floyd Mayweather in the ring

Floyd Mayweather has been accused by some of being a boring fighter. Some fight fans and writers would like to see him engage more with other fighters in the ring. The CEO of Mayweather Promotions Leonard Ellerbe disagrees.

Ellerbe believes that many fight fans and writers have Mayweather all wrong:

“You guys don’t know nothing about Floyd. All these descriptions I see of him running around the ring scared. Y’all need to come down here and watch him box. I think the fights kind of dictate the way things go. The opponents,” Ellerbe said before Mayweather’s media workout on Thursday.

Over the years, we have heard about Mayweather’s hand problems, but Ellerbe said if Mayweather did not have those problems, he would be stopping guys:

“Floyd is a dog! If he needs to go in his bag of tricks, he can do all of that, and then some. Unfortunately, in a lot of cases over the years, he has naturally small hands, so that’s been a problem. I’ll tell you what,  if that man would not of had hand problems, I’m telling you all these guys around here from any of these weight classes 60(middleweight), all that. He stops all them guys with his skill set.”

Mayweather will battle Conor McGregor on August 26 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Will he stop McGregor in what he says is his last fight?

Mayweather’s last stoppage victory was against Victor Ortiz in 2011.
