Report: LeBron James will not waive no-trade clause

While Kyrie Irving is reportedly looking to get out of Cleveland, LeBron James is looking to stay in Cleveland, at least for the 2017-18 season. According to ESPN, James will not waive his no-trade clause, and will look to stay in Cleveland for the entire 2017-18 season.

James, 32, can opt of his contract at the end of next season.

No matter what happens with Irving, the Cavs still should be the favorite to get back to the NBA Finals. Obviously, having Irving makes getting back to the NBA Finals a lot easier, but having LeBron James is what separates Cleveland from everybody else in the Eastern Conference.

Furthermore, Irving could always change his mind about wanting to be traded. Kobe Bryant did (Kobe demanded trade from Lakers in 2007), so anything is possible.
